Social Impact
Victoria International Pvt. Ltd. was established in 1995, as a subsidiary of erstwhile Victoria Produce Pty Ltd group that has been in South Africa since 1965. As the word “International” indicates, the primary objective of Victoria International is to focus on growing opportunities for international trade and services for African countries. Over the years, Victoria International has experienced steady growth to become a dynamic medium-sized company and representatives in other African countries. Our four major areas of operation are:
EDUCATION
PPR Education, a not-for-profit organization started by Victoria International, focuses on improving education levels in South Africa. Working hand in hand with the Department of Education, our work focuses on under-privileged schools that are performing poorly. Our program sought to rekindle the pride and joy of teaching among Educators and instill the love of learning and culture of education among learners. We do so with a unique program that shows measurable improvements within a short time.
HEALTH
Imphelo Help Line, another initiative of Victoria International, is a health call center being created to reduce the minor ailment load on the public health system. This will allow any citizen to access medical information and advice, and avail counseling services by using telephone. This is especially useful for the poor and those living in rural areas who have to travel long distances to get to the nearest public health care. It will also help reduce the workload of government hospitals when minor ailments are dealt with telephonically.
BLIND & DEAF
Victoria International is actively involved in introducing innovative concepts to help blind & deaf people to use their special strengths to create unique business models that make them positive contributors to society. Enterprises that help the blind & deaf earn out of their skills instead of being a burden on society. Durban Edutainment Center is one such program. Operating the Imphelo Helpline with the help of the blind is another. Several other exciting projects are in pipeline.
